Why we built it

Gift-giving shouldn't feel like homework. Most of us know the person we are shopping for perfectly well — we just freeze when it's time to turn "She's into sourdough and vintage French cinema" into an actual present. Generic gift guides often don't help, and having twelve open browser tabs and hundreds of repetitive recommendations is even worse.

Nanaloco was built to close that gap. Describe the recipient the way you would describe them to a friend, and let 'Nana' do the hunting — matching real, purchasable products to who they actually are, not to a list of best-sellers everyone already owns.

How it works

1. Describe them. Type a sentence ("my sister, 32, sourdough + vintage French cinema"), record a quick voice note, or even upload a photo of something you know they'd like. The more specific, the better.
2. Set the guardrails. Budget, occasion, recipient, preferred store, category, and anything to avoid.
3. Get real ideas. In a few seconds you'll see a curated set of specific products — each with the reasoning behind it, real prices and ratings pulled from retailers, and direct links to buy.

Every result set includes a safe-bet crowd-pleaser, an unexpected "wildcard," and at least one deep-cut idea that proves we actually understood the brief.

What makes it different

• Real products, not categories. You'll never get "a book" — you'll get the specific title, brand, and model, ready to buy.
• A read on the person. Nanaloco summarizes the recipient's vibe so the suggestions feel personal, not algorithmic.
• Shop your way. We surface options across Amazon, Walmart, Target, Etsy, and various other specialty stores — you pick where to buy.
• No account required. Start typing and go. Want to keep a list or get a reminder before the big day? Add an email — that's the only time we ask.

How we make money

Nanaloco is free to use. When you click through to a retailer and make a purchase, we will typically earn a small commission (for example, as an Amazon Associate) at no extra cost to you. It never changes the price you pay, and it never influences which gifts we suggest. Recommendations are based only on the recipient you describe.
